Long Weekend Picks: Midtown Village Fall Festival, Old City Fest, OutFest, Last Chance For Fireflies And More

It's going to be a blockbuster weekend in Philadelphia...

Fall festival season is in full swing this weekend in Philadelphia.

Midtown Village hosts both the massive, eight-hour Midtown Village Fall Festival on Saturday and OutFest, the biggest National Coming Out Day event in the country, on Sunday.

Those looking for a taste of history at their outdoor fests should hit up Old City Fest, which brings festival fun to the city’s Historic District, and the Revolutionary Germantown Festival, featuring a reenactment of the only military battle ever fought in Philadelphia (in 1777!).

What better time than the first weekend in October for Oktoberfest celebrations? The 23rd Street Armory Oktoberfest is hosting an enormous, a three-day Oktoberfest complete with German brews, eats and entertainment. Morgan’s Pier’s Oktoberfest and Roxtoberfest also go down this weekend.

We’re off duty for Columbus Day on Monday, so we are extending our Weekend Picks post through the holiday. We will be back first thing Tuesday to fill you in on all of the great events, exhibitions and festivals happening next week.

Be sure to follow Uwishunu on Twitter and Instagram for updates throughout the weekend.
