Weekend Picks: Philadelphia Marathon, Dilworth Park Wintergarden, National Dog Show And More

Shake off the fall chill with more than 50 fun things to do in Philadelphia this weekend...

The temperature may have dropped throughout the Philadelphia region, but there are still dozens of excellent events an festivities going on this weekend.

The Philadelphia Marathon — one of the biggest races in the nation (with 30,000 runners!) — returns to Philadelphia this Sunday along with other races throughout the weekend. Not running? No problem! More than 60,000 spectators are expected to watch the marathon and cheer on the racers.

The holiday season is here! It’s easy to get in the spirit with ice skating, shopping, a garden maze and a winter cabin at the Dilworth Park Wintergarden. Looking for holiday lights? Take in a light show — complete with 50,000 twinkling lights — at the Franklin Square Holiday Festival featuring the Electrical Spectacle.

Dog lovers rejoice: The National Dog Show at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center is back to showcase some of the finest canines in the country.

And it’s the final weekend for a number of great events throughout the region, including Mural Arts Monument Lab, the First Person Arts Festival, the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival, the Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival and more.
