Can I be honest? I may have been a bit sheltered growing up. I never understood why everyone outside of Chinatown called what I ate “Chinese food.” I called it rice… and sometimes, chicken with rice.

Many years later, I realized that food was a way to define and understand myself, as well as an ethnic group/culture - especially those, like me, that fall under the Asian persuasion. Well, what better way to discover the flavors and richness of Asia than having a smorgasbord of ethnic cuisine served with a ride on the merry go round.

At Franklin Square this Saturday, Comcast will help recognize Asian Heritage Month with a celebration that includes cultural performances, art and ethnic merchandise, fun children events and much more.
