Fishtown has been the up and coming place for festivals, concerts and bars over the past few years and now its claiming a spot on Philadelphia’s restaurant map with its very first Restaurant Week. Restaurants in Kensington and Port Richmond will also be participating. Awesome!
May 1st through May 6th, several restaurants will open their doors with either a price-fix menu or items ranging between a reasonable $10- $30. Not only does this give you a chance to sample the area’s finest, it all starts with the Fishtown Shad Fest. This festival will include food, music and kayaks! What more could you ask for from a festival?
The restaurants that will be participating will keep you fed from early morning through the night with brunch spots, Italian trattorrias and some of the best pub food in the five county area. So head on down to Ida Mae’s Bruncherie, Hinge Café, Sketch Burger, Bistro Juliana, Cassizzi’s Pizzeria, Green Rock Tavern, The Mercer Café, O’Reilly’s Pub and Johnny Brenda’s (who is also sponsoring the Shad Fest).
This Restaurant Week promises some new places to try and some old favorites. And without the overwhelming atmosphere and lines featured at the more central restaurant weeks, this neighborhood event will keep you welcome with delicious food.
