Flying hair, turning skirts, pushing, dipping, swaying… It’s hard to resist taking a few dance steps when visiting Allen Bentley’s new exhibition at the Bridgette Mayer’s gallery. If the artist abandoned his saturated colored background for a more neutral white, his caption of the dancers’ motions and rhythms is still intact. With hair and hands getting lost in the glare, he’s leaving us with a sensual feeling of wanting more.
It’s the fifth solo show of the artist at Bridgette Mayer’s gallery, all of them were tremendous successes and, year after year, Allen’s fans come back for more. His figurative yet conceptual style is a perfect match with his subjects’ sensual interactions.
The show will run through November 1st.
