Gather your picnic baskets and come on down to the Philadelphia Zoo on Mother’s Day!
Beginning at 2pm, Women in Transition (WIT) will be hosting an event to help the community learn about their programs to stop violence against women. For over 35 years, Women in Transition has been working to empower women and help them to build lives free of abuse and violence for themselves and their children.
When you buy your tickets in advance at www.helpwomen.org, a generous portion of zoo ticket proceeds will be donated to WIT. Supporters will be able to check in at the main entrance starting at 1:00 p.m. to enjoy wandering around the zoo, visiting the animals, and picnicking at the Peacock Pavilion.
Tickets are $18 and be purchased on Women in Transition’s official website. Children under two are free. Discounted parking of $10.00 per vehicle is also available with advanced ticket purchases. Please indicate need for a parking voucher when purchasing online tickets. The zoo is a great place to explore, and this event will be a great place to explore more than just the zoo.
