The Philadelphia Museum Of Art Presents Its 35th Annual Craft Show, November 10-13 At The Convention Center

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is hosting the 35th Annual Craft Show from November 10-13, where a spectacle of 195 of the finest craft artists will be showcased.

This year, guest artists all the way from Scotland are featured. Work from emerging artists, who are new to the field, will also be on display.

The extraordinary artwork on display at the craft show is composed from a variety of materials, such as baskets, leather, metal, paper and more. All work on display is available for sale.

As well as viewing and purchasing the artwork, a series of demonstrations will be conducted. No matter your interests, there is sure to be an event that will interest you, be it the Art of Cake Decorating, Art of Flower Arranging or Art of Coffee Making, all presented by professionals in their fields. The annual auction benefiting the Philadelphia Museum of Art Women’s Committee will begin with the preview of the items on November 1; bidding is open from November 9 at 9 a.m. to November 15 at 9 p.m. To view all the available art visit auction.pmacraftshow.org.

11th Hour Theater Company To Host “11/11/11,” An 11-Hour Long Musical And Theatrical Celebration On November 11

11th Hour Theater Company is marking the once-in-a-lifetime date 11/11/11, just around the corner, with an 11-hour-long gala event.

The theater has joined forces with the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service Education Center, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and a group of top-notch local performers.

The celebration begins with The Magic of Theater at 9 a.m., at the Caplan Center at University of the Arts. Children ages 7-12 can help create a mini-musical and participate in dance, music and puppet workshops.

Parents can snack on brunch hors’ d’oeuvres and enter to win raffle prizes. The kids will then perform alongside 11th Hour professionals.

Later in the evening, adults are invited to attend the 5:30 p.m. USO-themed Happy Hour at World Café Live.

Attendees can expect delectable appetizers, drinks and a silent auction. The celebration concludes with the 11 o’clock Numbers concert at 8 p.m., featuring music that brought the country together during the 1940′s. The concert showcases Broadway shows such as “Showboat” and “Next to Normal.”

11th Hour is splitting a portion of the proceeds with Make-A-Wish and The Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service & Education Center.

Linvilla Orchards Hosts The Annual Pumpkinland Festival, Now Through November 6: Corn Maze, Hayrides, All-You-Can-Carry-Pumpkins And More

Now through November 6, Linvilla Orchards in Delaware County is hosting their annual Pumpkinland Harvest Festival.

Perfect for all ages, Pumpkinland has endless activities for children and a farm market with seasonal items for adults.

Every day, the festival has live music, straw bale and corn mazes, a costume shop, endless amounts of pumpkins, caramel apple stands and much more. Visitors can also purchase tickets for hayrides, train rides and pony rides.

Upcoming events at Pumpkinland include a jack-o-lantern exhibit designed and carved by Linvilla staff on view until October 30, all-you-can-carry pumpkins for $19.99 on October 30, and face painting all day until 5 p.m. on Halloween night.

Luckily, if you forget to pick up snacks for Halloween, the food market is open until 6 p.m. on Halloween as well.
