11th Hour Theater Company is marking the once-in-a-lifetime date 11/11/11, just around the corner, with an 11-hour-long gala event.
The theater has joined forces with the Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service Education Center, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and a group of top-notch local performers.
The celebration begins with The Magic of Theater at 9 a.m., at the Caplan Center at University of the Arts. Children ages 7-12 can help create a mini-musical and participate in dance, music and puppet workshops.
Parents can snack on brunch hors’ d’oeuvres and enter to win raffle prizes. The kids will then perform alongside 11th Hour professionals.
Later in the evening, adults are invited to attend the 5:30 p.m. USO-themed Happy Hour at World Café Live.
Attendees can expect delectable appetizers, drinks and a silent auction. The celebration concludes with the 11 o’clock Numbers concert at 8 p.m., featuring music that brought the country together during the 1940′s. The concert showcases Broadway shows such as “Showboat” and “Next to Normal.”
11th Hour is splitting a portion of the proceeds with Make-A-Wish and The Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service & Education Center.
