Give up waiting for brunch to go away. Whether you swear by it or refuse to partake in another Mimosa-wasted weekend afternoon, it’s not heading anywhere. National Mechanics is paying respects to the tradition with the launch of their brunch menu, which gives you another reason to rise and groan until the first bite of sustenance passes your lips.

Lock up your bike and try not to trip up Mechanic’s steps. The Bloody Mary Seafood Cocktail is a righteous answer to your workout, a tiger shrimp and plaintain chip kickstart. The National Skillet is the eye-opening work of ham, potatoes, tomatoes, Oaxaca cheese, and fried eggs. Tofu omelets, french toast, and Monte Cristo sandwiches round out your other prospects.

What this really means is that now you can spend your night at National Mechanics, get tossed out after last call, drop by an afterparty, watch the sun rise at Penn Treaty Park, nap in your friend’s car in the parking lot near the William Penn statue, and then head over to the pub for something delicious. Do this at least once this summer and your Eggs Benedict will be truly memorable.

Brunch is served Sat-Sun from 11 AM-3:30 PM.
