A friend of mine who is also an amazing photographer (he’s been featured in Vice magazine), Manny Dominquez, recently had a show at Benna’s Cafe in South Philly. His photos, which include a range of various film formats, Polaroid, Holga and Holga-roid, are personal glimpses into his life and experiences.

Sometimes you can look at one of his photos and know exactly how the air would have smelled when he took it–his images evoke a shared nostalgia that reminds us of our loves, our youths, our families and our small pleasures (like boardwalk treats and roadtrips). His photos are accessible, they’re beautiful, they’re intimate and they’re full of life.

Check out his work now through May 8th at Benna’s.

A “Norman Rockwell” of this decade! Wonderful! I cannot wait to go to Benna’s Cafe.
