Are you the type of visitor that loves to sight see on your own? No matter how reasonable the cost, you can’t see yourself riding on a Duck or following Franklin’s footsteps? Just hand me a map and my feet and public transit will do the rest. Although we are a walking city, it is still 2.7 miles from the Delaware to the Schuylkill and with so many Septa transit lines, its no wonder why one can get lost so easy.
Do you know what you need? The Phlash! No, not the Flash, the Phlash! It’s not a superhero but it does have super speed! Running from 10am-6pm, seven days a week- this purple trolley stops at every major tourist site, including: Penns Landing, the Reading Terminal Market, Love Park and even the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s newest addition-The Pearlman Building for only 2 dollars. If your uncertain about where to get off, they have a video screen highlighting all the museums, restaurants and shopping in this 21 stop loop.
It’s only 5 dollars for an individual all-day pass and 10 for the family pass. If you’re under 6 or a tad bit older (say 55) –it’s free! Make sure you grab a Phlash quick guide which includes our attractions, our list of special events, and where to rest when the sun goes down. Just ask your hotel concierge or stop by the Visitor Center. I have enough to build a fortress!
