Martin Scorcese and The Rolling Stones. That combo should be more than enough to get you out to the Franklin this weekend.

If you head over to the Franklin Institute’s planetarium on Saturday (June 7th), you’ll be in for a special treat. Forget planets and galaxies! The Fels Planetarium is presenting a different group of stars. Rockstars.

The Rolling Stones tribute band Hot Rocks will be performing for free in the Fels Planetarium at 6:45PM, accompanied with all kinds of fancy special effects using the Planetarium’s dome. Immediately afterwards, you’ll be given a special screening of the new Martin Scorcese film, Shine A Light, in the Tuttleman IMAX Theater. That’s the Rolling Stones. In IMAX. In a movie directed by Martin Scorcese!

There will be free t-shirts, CDs, and prizes given away through out the evening, thanks to Ray Koob of 102.9 WMGK.

The performance is free with your purchase of a ticket to the 7:30 IMAX Movie. You can score some more information off the Franklin’s official website, and call (215) 448-1254 to reserve your spot.

About the Blogger

Hi! I'm Eric. I'm a Springsteen-loving, Bon-Jovi singing Jersey boy who recently up and left, relocating to the awesome city of Philadelphia. I'm a full time graduate student at Arcadia University and work for GPTMC, causing my coworkers to wonder if I have any kind of life. I don't. I enjoy photography, writing, reading, and playing Halo III. I spend a lot of time fussing over my chinchilla, Mittens. He's adorable, and you'll love him.
