Classic Candies @ Art in the Age
Art in the Age sure does love nostalgia, what with their old fashion prints and vintage-inspired dresses. Rather than make you reminisce about art or clothing from years past however, they’re up to something new. This time, it’s all about candy.
Recently, Art in the Age have started selling classic Root Beer Barrel candies, in quarter pound sacks for $2.50. You can also purchase root beer rock candy at $1.25 a stick, which they recommend for ROOT cocktails.
They’ve also added a number of classic chocolates to the shop, inspired by candies from the early 1900′s. Check them out, here.

Inside the Arcadia Boutique
This Friday, Feral Childe is stopping by the Arcadia Boutique, and bringing their entire Spring collection with them.
Unfamiliar? Feral Childe is the brain “childe” of design duo Moriah Carlson (Brooklyn, NY) and Alice Wu (Oakland, CA). They design hip, unique womenswear. To check out their Spring line (entitled The Hills Are Alive), visit their official website.

Inside the Art Star Gallery & Boutique
Art Star’s newest exhibit, entitled The Souvenir Shop, shows off the work of over 15 ceramic artists from around the country.
These artists have created one-of-a-kind souvenirs, designed specifically for Art Star. The exhibit will be on display March 27th through April 25th, with an opening reception on April 2nd, First Friday.
Along with the Magic Gardens’ Tell Tale Tiles & Fractured Fantasies exhibit, the Art Star’s Souvenir Shop is another one of hundreds of exhibitions taking place as a part of the 44th Annual National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) conference here in Philadelphia.

Inside the Art Star Gallery & Boutique
Currently the Art Star Gallery & Boutique in Northern Liberties is hosting Meditation of the Chawan, an exhibition by Ed Bing Lee. The exhibit highlights over 30 of Lee’s macrame projects, and on March 20th, you can meet this talented artist.
Lee will be at the shop this Saturday from 1pm to 3pm, demonstrating his macrame techniques. You’ll get to see him in action, creating new pieces right in the boutique. No reservations are required.
