Quick Hurricane Sunday update for you: SEPTA is up and running, and most attractions are back open for business, including the PMA, Barnes, Franklin Institute, Zoo, NCC and all of Independence National Historical Park, as the city cleans up and restores power. Hopefully most of the scheduled Halloween happenings will go off without a hitch, but be sure to double-check that your event of choice is moving forward as planned. Our thoughts remain with those affected by the storm, and we commend the city for its timely damage control efforts.

A little housekeeping note: as the city prepares for Hurricane Sandy’s arrival later today, posting is going to be a little light on Uwishunu today. We’ll have a few Sandy-related posts as well as a few posts unrelated to the hurricane. Be sure to follow us on Twitter for updates throughout the day. (You’ll also want to follow @Philly311 and @PhiladelphiaGov.) Note that pretty much all attractions in the city are closed today. Some restaurants and bars are staying open; if you’re looking to find out which ones, your best bet is the #OpenInPHL hashtag on Twitter. Stay dry and stay safe.
