From Philly 360: The 2013 Roots Picnic Returns To Festival Pier Saturday, June 1; Tickets Go On Sale Friday, January 25

The 2013 Roots Picnic musical lineup was released earlier this week, and the roster does not disappoint. This year’s show returns to Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing on Saturday, June 1 and as always, the lineup boasts talent from a wide range of genres, including Gary Clark Jr., Solange, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, How To Dress Well, Naughty By Nature and, of course, The Roots. Mural Arts Program Announces The New Roots Mural To Be Located At 6th And South Streets And Installed Later This Year

The Mural Arts Program has announced that the upcoming mural of The Roots will live at 6th and South Streets, in the same neighborhood where The Roots honed their skills performing publicly during their formative years. The mural’s design, which will tell the story of the band from past to present, is being created by a group of local artists, including Philly 360° Creative Ambassador Tatyana Fazlalizadeh, who are working alongside The Roots to shape the final product.
