Actor/playwright/producer Paden Fallis with his not-for-profit theatre group Rocketship Productions are bringing The Play About the Coach to the Fringe Festival September 2-7. I’m finding his experience in the theatre world real impressive, especially having produced numerous plays in New York and the film version of the award winning play, Anybody.
Receiving attention from even New York Magazine, in this current performance as a basketball coach, Fallis brilliantly shares with the audience the final three minutes of an NCAA tournament game. I saw a series of clips of his performance on Myspace, and I can’t wait to see the entire performance live on stage at The Black Lodge (1508 Brandywine Street). By the way, this venue is also an artist owned production company with a recording facility, as well as performance stage and gallery space.
As a one man show, the sheer number of plot twists and character struggles within a performance that lasts less than one hour, makes The Play About the Coach a theater first of its kind at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Tickets are just ten dollars.
