As you may have heard, Philly Beer Week will soon be coming to a bar near you. With nearly 600 different events to choose from, how do you pick the right one? Well, if you’re an athlete, the selection process just got a whole lot easier, because this year the Beer Week organizers are offering some beer-based events that include running and biking. That’s right. Exercise.
If you’re the type of athlete who hates the monotony of a treadmill, you’ll get a thrill out of the Dock Street to Dock Street BrewLounge Scavenger Hunt. Starting at Dock and Front Streets on March 7 at 10 a.m.,you’ll make the five-mile trek to Dock Street Brewery in West Philly where a buffet of champions awaits you!
For the cyclists among you, consider joining the Brewery Bike Ride. Join up with a bunch of cycling enthusiasts on Saturday, March 14th at 11 a.m. at the Nodding Head. Throughout the day, they’ll visit Dock Street Brewery, Yards and Philadelphia Brewing Company, finishing things off at Old City’s Triumph Brewery at 5 p.m.
For the runners in our midst, don’t miss meeting up with the Fishtown Beer Runners. They gather at 2346 E. Susquehanna Avenue every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at 11:30 a.m. (Make sure to get there on time, or they’ll leave without you).
