Happy Early Christmas!

Last week, Mayor Nutter announced that metered on-street parking will be free after 11 a.m. every Saturday through January 1, 2011.

This is the incentive you were waiting for to get out there and get all of your holiday shopping done nice and early.

The free metered parking offer applies to all of Philadelphia’s great commercial business districts, including Rittenhouse Row, Old City, University City, Manayunk, Chestnut Hill, East Passyunk, etc.

The Philadelphia Parking Authority has the current total meter count in the city at more than 14,500. So enjoy.
