For years now, Philly has been known as a good city for beer, for soft pretzels and for perfectly toothsome, meat-stuffed hoagies (truly, there’s just nothing like ’em where I’m from). But as a coffee town? Not so much.
Thing is, in recent years that has been changing and it’s time to show off some of the beans and hot brews you can get in our fair city. Jose Garces, our resident Iron Chef and man most likely to knock Stephen Starr of the restaurateur of the millennia throne, recently got into the business of coffee roasting, and my oh my, is it good.
Tie a ribbon around a bag of these Garces Trading Company beans, roasted in small batches in Lambertville, NJ and send them off to your favorite caffeine addict. One sniff and they’ll know you care.
Philly Homegrown has created a guide that features edible gifts from around the region. You can see the full guide here, or check back daily to see all the gifts featured on uwishunu. We’re also giving away an At Home with Steve Poses prize pack, so make sure to enter! Contest ends Friday, December 10.
