Weekend Picks: The 2011 Phillies Season Officially Kicks Off, First Friday In The City And Suburbs, Philly Spring Cleanup And More

What a way to kick off a weekend: the Phillies’ 2011 season officially begins today, with a 1:05 p.m. match-up against the Houston Astros.

Fingers crossed that we’ll have cause to celebrate tonight; there are plenty of opportunities to do so, from First Friday to the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s inaugural spring Art after 5 event to the official reopening of Franklin Square and Squareburger (hello, Tastykake milkshake).

Keep the weekend’s wheels spinning with a last-chance theater show (three are closing Sunday), or else get your hands dirty at the Philly Spring Cleanup.
