Just in time to beat the heat, Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran’s Grocery, part of their 13th Street empire, now sells a variety of special cocktail mixers, hand-crafted from fresh fruit juices and sold by the quart (which makes five cocktails, per Chef Turney’s recipes) for $12 each.

The inspiration for the addition to Grocery’s inventory came from the handmade mixers served at Marcey and Turney’s Lolita and Bindi. Grocery already sells food from both restaurants.

The mixers can be blended with any spirit, from rum to tequila to vodka. Note to parents, babysitters, general abstainers: Chef Turney says the cocktail bases can also be enjoyed sans alcohol.

Each bottle includes Turney’s directions for cocktail mixing. The flavors currently available are Lemon-lime, Black Cherry, Mango-Cardamom, Blood Orange and Pomegranate-Ginger.

Sounds like the perfect summer refreshment!
