Reminder: PECO Kicks Off Free First Sundays At The Barnes Foundation – From 1-6 P.M. – This Weekend, June 3

PECO is partnering with the Barnes on a program called “Free First Sundays at The Barnes,” and it kicks off this Sunday, June 3.

Each first Sunday of the month, visitors will enjoy free admission, family entertainment and informative seminars from 1-6 p.m. Each month, PECO will introduce new themes and entertain new audiences at the Barnes.

That means you can get access to the world’s largest collections of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist and early Modern paintings — including 181 Renoirs, 69 Cezannes, 59 Matisses, 46 Picassos and 7 Van Goghs — for free!

This first event will celebrate Gay Pride Month and Black Music Month. PECO will host a panel discussion titled “Black Music Matters: A Celebration of Black Music Month and the Philadelphia Sound” moderated by: Marc Byers, Manager of The Roots.

There’s also music and other special programming throughout the day. Check out more info here.

Book tickets, or become a member, online. Note that tickets for each first Sunday become availably the previous first Sunday; so this Sunday, get your tickets for July’s Sunday!

  1. Visited many times year’s past as my husband was a Philly Art Director. First Sunday, for myself and friends (4 in all) sounds so exciting. Unfortunately we are all very senior citizens, with limited budgets. We would find it extremely tiring to stand in a long line to obtain tickets on a Sunday afternoon; especially since there are only a limited number of tickets and we might be disappointed.

Will there be a showing on any of the local TV stations in the near future.
