One of Philly Beer Week’s brand new and most exciting events is the Fishtown FestivALE, hitting Frankford Avenue this Saturday, June 9.

From noon-8 p.m., Frankford Hall and its across-the-street neighbor Johnny Brenda’s will close down the main Fishtown thoroughfare between Girard and Shackamaxon.

The outdoor beer party (it’s tented, so it’ll be held rain or shine) includes three DJs, carnival games, a dunk tank, shopping, food and beer. Lots of beer.

Both spots will be open to guests during the event, with delicious food and drinks. Plus, Johnny Brenda’s, as usual, will host awesome live music all day and night.

Frankford Hall will be serving the following drafts: Fransiskaner Hefeweizen, Spaten Oktoberfest, Paulaner Munich Lager, and Yards IPA. Their menu will feature Bratwurst and Spicy Bauernwursts, All Beef Hotdogs, Turkey Drumsticks and warm Bavarian Pretzels.

Johnny Brenda’s will be serving up beer from Sly Fox including Pikeland Pils, Phoenix Pale Ale, Royal Weisse, and Maibock. The menu will feature a Brisket Sandwich, Veggie Burgers and soft pretzels.

Little Baby’s Ice Cream will be serving up their goods from noon-3 p.m.

There will be a beer truck parked on the street with five taps of brews, and retail shops along Frankford will set up booths with great sales. Also look out for a Cross Fit Strong Man competition. And be sure to get your photo snapped with the Hammer of Glory.

The event is super accessible; it’s just two blocks from the Girard El stop. There’s no admission fee, either. What all of this adds up to? You now have plans on Saturday. See you there.
