Fashion’s Night Out (FNO), the now-annual worldwide shopping event, brainchild of famed Vogue Magazine editor Anna Wintour, will take place on Thursday, September 6, from 6-11 p.m.
This year, both the City of Philadelphia and iconic local fashion retailer, Joan Shepp, will be highlighted at the second annual FNO cocktail reception for the Accessories Council (the national trade association for the $30 billion accessory industry), during which the group’s newest initiative, USAMade, will debut.
The purpose of USAMade is to promote fashion jewelry accessories designed and manufactured in the United States. USAMade pieces will range in price from $20 to over $400, and will be available for purchase at Joan Shepp during Fashion’s Night Out.
A long-time champion of American-made jewelry and designers, Joan Shepp will host nearly a dozen designers and representatives from the USAMade campaign that evening, as well as be among the first boutiques in the country to carry new lines from designers like Nicole Romano, John Wind and Alex Woo. What an honor.
The cocktail reception and shopping event is free and open to the public. It is one of more than a dozen fashion events happening across the city as part of Fashion’s Night Out, which is a collaboration between Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company and the City of New York. It began in New York City four years ago and is now in more than 500 cities nationwide and 19 countries.
Stay tuned for more details on Fashion’s Night Out festivities throughout Philadelphia.
And bear in mind that Fashion’s Night Out is the big preview event for this fall’s The Philadelphia Collection, a week-long series of fashion events (more on that soon).
