Count Down To The End Of The World With The Young Friends Of The Penn Museum At “Maya 2012: The Final Countdown,” December 21: DJ, Food, Drinks, Acrobatics And More

If the Mayans are right, it is all going to end on 12/21/12.

And since there is little you can do about the end of the world — you’re no Will Smith, after all — why not go out in style (Maya style) at the Penn Museum?

The Young Friends of the Penn Museum are hosting Maya 2012: The Final Countdown, featuring a cash bar with Maya cocktails and light Maya-inspired food, the high-flying acrobats of Cirque-tarcular and music by MTV’s DJ Skribble and Philadelphia’s own DJ/VJ Joe Broscoe.

The party gets started at 9 p.m., DJ Skribble takes over the music (and the countdown) at 11 p.m. and keeps spinning until 1 a.m. — or the end of the world, whichever comes first.

And as the clock strikes midnight and we’re all still here to celebrate, you can consider it practice for the next big countdown to midnight: you know, when we ring in 2013.

Tickets are available online.
