Here in Philly, we celebrate America’s birthday with one of the biggest shindigs of the year.

July 1-7, Wawa Welcome America returns to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and beyond to celebrate Independence Day with live — and free! — music from Grammy-winning musicians, a huge parade, fireworks, a food festival and tons of other activities across the city.

On July 4, the citywide party takes over the Parkway with one of the largest free outdoor concerts in the country — The Philly 4th of July Jam — headlined by none other than The Roots, alongside John Mayer, J. Cole, Grace Potter, Jill Scott, Ne-Yo and Demi Lovato.

And this year, for the first time ever, VH1 has partnered up with Wawa Welcome America to provide a high-definition nationwide broadcast of the Philly 4th of July Jam. Check out a preview here.

In another first, it looks like we’ll be seeing a celeb host leading the show. Philly’s own hilarious actor and comedian Kevin Hart is set to host the blockbuster concert on the Parkway stage. For a preview of the hysterics sure to ensue, check out the announcement video here.

The 4th of July Jam festivities are free and open to all, but Wawa Welcome America Facebook fans and Twitter followers can score VIP tickets to the seated area just in front of the stage.

Every Monday and Thursday through June 27, fans can participate in giveaway contests on Facebook and Twitter, answering trivia questions to win. There will be two opportunities to win on Mondays and one on Thursdays.

Each winner will receive two tickets to the seated area, and you can only win once. Note that the tickets are not available for public purchase, so the giveaways are the only way to score VIP seating.
