This spring, take stock in dining on Market Street. Aiming for an opening date of Sunday, March 16, Bank & Bourbon will debut at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel after a complete renovation of the ground-floor dining room.
Diners can expect a completely new look for the space that was formerly SoleFood, totally new floor plan and layout. When complete, the restaurant’s vibe will be modern-yet-rustic, and above all approachable.
Helmed by chef Thomas Harkins, the menu will feature updates on American staples. And, as the name suggests, the bar hopes to draw brown-liquor lovers with an extensive bourbon program run by a “bourbon master,” who will be on-hand to educate guests and host an array of events.
Until Bank & Bourbon opens, though, diners should check out the Lowes pop-up, Level 33 Restaurant and Sky Lounge, a temporary restaurant and bar on the 33rd floor that will be open through mid-March while the lobby undergoes enhancements and the new restaurant concept develops.
Rather than offer hotel guests a makeshift restaurant during the hotel’s renovation process, the Loews opened this full-service restaurant and lounge, complete with both a dining room and devoted bar area, not to mention the awesome views of the southeast portion of the city.
Serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and Saturday and Sunday brunch, the modern American pop-up restaurant dishes a wide range of fare. Plus, guests can arrive anytime just for cocktails at the Sky Lounge.
Creative bartenders pour a full range of sprits, wine and beer from 11:30 a.m. on through happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday through Friday. The bar is also open late, until 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
So, take advantage of the pop-up now and bank on hearing more about the new Center City dining destination soon.
