Who doesn’t need a little guidance now and then?

At the historic Wayne Hotel on the Main Line, Paramour restaurant hosts a Guided Wine Tasting series on the second Thursday of the month throughout the spring.

This month, the series wends its way around the oenophile world to explore the wines of Austria on Thursday, March 13 in a tasting from 6 to 7 p.m.

Sommelier Steven Gullo’s selected vintages — among them, lesser-known grapes such as Grüner Veltliner, Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt — will be paired with hors d’oeuvres from the restaurant kitchen.

Meanwhile, Gullo will school participants on tasting techniques, wine styles and how to develop their own palates.

Future scheduled sessions include the Pacific Northwest on Thursday, April 10, a “Greek Symposium” on Thursday, May 8, and Wines of Argentina on Thursday, June 12.

The hour-long session costs $30 a person (tax and gratuity not included) and reservations are required. Call the restaurant at 610-977-0600 to reserve.
