Have a hankering for a hefeweizen?

South Philadelphia Tap Room kicks off the warmer months with its annual Wheat Beer Fest.

This Saturday, May 17, sip a variety of wheat beers for just $3 a pop (!) while basking in the spring weather at the alfresco block party. Sip wheat beers from more than 30 breweries including Allagash, Troegs, Ommegang and Philly Brewing Company. The full list of available brews is available right here.

Pair your libations with barbecue fare whipped up by the restaurant’s chef, Scott Schroeder, and Full Moon Fare. Look forward to tasty eats like Walt Wit beer-braised pulled pork sandwiches, asparagus salad sandwiches and vegan pad thai.

Beyond food and drinks, a number of local bands, including the always-entertaining West Philadelphia Orchestra, will treat partiers to live tunes.

The action is slated to start at noon on Saturday and there is no price to join the fun, just pay for food and drinks as you go.
