Love linguica? This festival is for you.

The PECO Multicultural Series at Penn’s Landing continues this weekend with the Portuguese Heritage Festival, Saturday, June 15, 1-7 p.m.

Falling on Father’s Day, the daylong fest makes a great way to celebrate the family with an afternoon of Portuguese music and activities, all free and outdoors at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing.

Festivities range from Revolutionary art and folklore dance to traditional music and the blessing of the fleet aboard the Tall Ship Gazela. The Tall Ship Gazela is originally a Portuguese ship that is now berthed at Penn’s Landing.

A full day of stage entertainment will begin promptly at 1 p.m., including dancing and live music by various bands from Angola and Brazil.

While the activities and entertainment are jolly, many festivalgoers head straight for the food. A spread of traditional Portuguese cuisine will be dished up all day long — think grilled sardines, chourico and linguica sausages, and grilled chicken and pork. Plus, look for Portuguese wine and beer.

Enjoy this latest outdoor festival at Penn’s Landing, one of Philadelphia’s best and most bustling summertime venues.
