This Friday, June 13, the Young Friends of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania host an evening shindig that gives a one-night encore to Philadelphia’s Stage Door Canteen, a live entertainment venue that welcomed the likes of Frank Sinatra and the Three Stooges to its stage before closing its doors in 1945.

From 6 to 8 p.m., enjoy drinks and small plates from Tria and Narragansett Brewing Company as the organization channels the WWII entertainment venue by hosting the Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus and plenty of dancing to boot.

Browse the collection of photographs of the historic Stage Door Canteen and take part in a caption contest to win a Lucky Strike gift certificate. Also partake in a raffle featuring a number of items provided by local attractions and businesses.

General admission is $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

Guests also have the choice of purchasing a combination ticket for the Canteen Party and the Philadelphia History Museum’s Cocktails in the Courtyard: A Black & White Garden Party on Thursday, June 26 for a discounted price of $40.

Tickets are available online.
