This Weekend: Jump For Joy + Kindred The Family Games – June 7 & 8

This weekend, two community-centered events land in Philly, and they both are sure to leave you with great memories and plenty of Philly feel-good vibes. Kickoff the weekend on Saturday, June 7 with Jump for Joy, a double dutch contest presented by the Art Sisters. Then close out the festivities on Sunday, June 8, as Kindred The Family Soul and Got Laundry? team-up to present Kindred the Family Games.

Saturday, June 7 is set to be jam-packed with fun, and plenty of friendly Philly competition, as Shanina Dionna, Ameerah K. Art and Nebulus Flair, also known as Art Sisters, land back on the scene with Jump for Joy — a community double dutch competition. These up-and-coming Philly creatives are known around town for making it happen, and this time, they’ve come up with a new concept for the entire fam. 

Between 12-4 p.m., Jump for Joy attendees will compete in various games and competitions, including an old school double dutch contest, a free throw shoot out, and an 80s/90s best-dressed fashion show. Teams can pre-register for the chance to win multiple prizes valued at $500, courtesy of event sponsors #thisisclassicphilly and Cerebellum Water.

If you’re not interested in competing, no worries, the event is free and open to the public. So, just come down and cheer on your favorite squad.

Kindred The Family Games

Sunday, June 8 popular husband and wife R&B duo Kindred the Family Soul are teaming up with family-centered initiative, Got Laundry? for Kindred the Family Games.

Many fans know that Aja and Fatin of Kindred are both big advocates for family values. They have always showcased that in their music and in their online content. Got Laundry? Is a faith-based organization that offers full laundry services and raises public awareness for homelessness and autism.  

This weekend, Kindred and Got Laundy? will provide an awesome afternoon promoting fitness, wellness and healthy lifestyle for families. The event will include plenty of activities, including Zumba, line dancing and games. Check it out!
