Have you ever dreamed of summoning an ice cream truck to your doorstep? Thanks to Uber, today you can.
Today, Friday, July 18, score sweet treats on demand via Uber Philadelphia thanks to a global one-day-only blitz that adds ice cream trucks as an option on Uber’s smartphone app, which usually offers on-demand town cars or SUVs.
In more than 100 cities across the globe, ice cream trucks will be on the road from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., while supplies last.
For $25, you’ll get one ice cream bundle — five pieces of ice cream and an Uber Tank Top.
You can purchase more than five pieces of ice cream from a single truck, but only in increments of five. So, five for $25, 10 for $50, and so on. The drivers will not be selling individual pieces.
Plus, there’s no cash required. All of the treats will be charged directly to your Uber account.
If you don’t have an Uber account already, sign up here.
Demand for the ice cream trucks is expected to be very, very high and availability is quite limited, so it may take multiple tries to tap an available truck. Be patient, though, since the folks at Uber intend to deliver as much ice cream as possible.
