The newest addition to Philadelphia’s hotel bar scene, Art Bar at the Sonesta Hotel has joined the ranks of cool hotel bars in a city that knows its cool bars.

With a stylish interior and an art program courtesy of The Center for Emerging Visual Artists — the same folks who organize the annual Philadelphia Open Studio Tours — Art Bar pours craft cocktails, beers and wines to complement its modern décor.

Communal tables and window seating encourage a friendly vibe, and as its name implies, aesthetics factor highly into the venue’s décor in the form of bold colors, modern furnishings and a rotating selection of works curated by The Center for Emerging Visual Artists.

But what about cocktails, you ask? Try the Grand Sonesta, made with raspberry peach Grand Marnier, peach Schnapps, pomegranate juice, sparkling wine and fresh peach and raspberry.

Those looking for a bite can snack on plates from executive chef Rolf Bechtold like antipasti, lobster mac & cheese, crab cakes and Lancaster County beef sliders.

Plus, during happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, enjoy $1 discounts on draft beer and $2 discounts on wine.
