Thanksgiving weekend is always a great time in Philadelphia but this weekend is really shaping up to be spectacular. It’s going to be a great kick-off to the holiday season in Philly.
Tonight, there are parties across town for one of the biggest going out nights of the year.
And then tomorrow for the main event, Philadelphia’s annual Thanksgiving Day Parade – the oldest Thanksgiving Day parade in the country – will fill the city with floats, giant balloons, performances and special guest appearances. You’ll want to be there in person, so consult our parade-watching guide.
For Thanksgiving dinners, we have a bunch of great options across town. And don’t forget about the Eagles taking on the Cowboys at 4:30 p.m. on Fox.
This week also marks the opening of a variety of tried-and-true holiday sights in Philadelphia: Christmas Village at Love Park, the Comcast Holiday Spectacular, Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest, Macy’s Christmas Light Show, A Longwood Christmas and much more.
And then kick off your holiday shopping in Philadelphia on Friday and Small Business Saturday. Take advantage of free metered parking on Saturday (after 11 a.m.) and our other top reasons to kick off your holiday shopping in Philadelphia this weekend.
It’s going to be an epic holiday weekend in Philadelphia.
So much so that we are going to be ducking out a little early today to get the weekend going that much sooner.
But before we do, we’d like to wish all of you – our dear readers – the happiest of happy Thanksgivings!! Have a wonderful holiday and we’ll see you back here on Monday.
(And go Eagles!)
