This week, The Academy of Natural Sciences gives its visitors one last chance to learn just how sweet science can be.

The Academy’s special exhibition on wonderful world of chocolate, Chocolate: The Exhibition, ends its run this Saturday, January 24.

Throughout the exhibition, learn about the impact of chocolate on culture, the global economy and tropical ecosystems through hands-on activities for children and adults alike. Gain insight about cacao’s journey across the Atlantic Ocean and about its historic use as a bartering method.

Also see what raw cacao looks like at a life-size cacao tree complete with pods and seeds. Fast forward to modern day and hear how chocolate changed into the candy we know today thanks to the addition of sugar.

Access to Chocolate: The Exhibition is not included in the price of general admission. Entry is an extra $5 for non-members and $3 for museum members. Tickets are available online.
