As Women’s History Month continues, the Betsy Ross House commemorates the month with a variety of events on Sundays through March 29. Every Sunday in March means a different woman in colonial Philadelphia’s past will take the spotlight for a day of programming.
This Sunday, March 8, guests of the Betsy Ross House will hear stories about powerful women from the 18th and 19th centuries as told by a Once Upon A Nation Storyteller. Next Sunday, March 15, guests will learn about Sarah Melton, a high-end dress maker in Philadelphia.
Guests will also hear about a widowed business owner and Rebecca Franks, a British loyalist and Philadelphia socialite.
All events run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are included in the price of admission to the Betsy Ross House.
