This Sunday, March 29, runners of all levels and ability will take to the streets to run though Philadelphia for the second-ever Love Run, a spring half-marathon that spreads the Philly love all around town via both participants and onlookers.
In addition to the race, Love Run pre- and -post-run festivities will deliver good times all weekend long, from Friday, March 27 through Sunday, March 29.
On Friday, participants and their family and friends are invited to take part in a pre-race party and expo complete with a retail area, photo ops throughout Citizens Bank Park, tours of the ballpark and a happy hour at McFadden’s. Some events require pre-registration, so check here for more.
The fun continues on Saturday with an “endurance emporium” at Citizens Bank Park to ensure all participants are in tip-top shape, as well as the chance to kick back with buy one, get one beers from McFadden’s for race participants and more.
On Sunday, the race will depart at 8 a.m. from Eakins Oval and the course will close at 11:30 a.m. The race closes out with a finish line festival complete with favorite Philly eats and tailgating.
For runners, the course promises views of Kelly Drive, the Schuylkill River, City Hall, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and more. Click here for the course map.
Athletes can either run with a team — local running clubs, charity groups and more — or register to run on their own. Registration is $99 per person. Note that online registration is now closed, but registration is available on site Friday, March 27, noon to 6 p.m. or Saturday, March 28 from 1:30 to 5 p.m.
