Philadelphia, get ready for a sensational summer experience.

From May 30 through June 6, The Oval on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway will be home to Future Sensations, a striking immersive exhibition featuring five “ephemeral pavilions.”

The City of Brotherly Love is one of just four cities around the world and the only U.S. city to host this futuristic traveling exhibit, which celebrates the 350th anniversary of Philadelphia-based Saint-Gobain, a global building materials company founded in France in 1665 that’s been a part of developing such iconic sights as Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors and the Statue of Liberty.

For a whole week, Saint-Gobain’s Future Sensations will take over The Oval, the pop-up park on the Parkway, with a totally free exhibition of five huge walk-through pavilions that give visitors a 3-D digital experience merging 21st-century technology with storytelling and visual arts.

In addition to the impressive pavilions, the installation will be accompanied by a daily pop-up beer garden and multiple food trucks — much like the scene Philadelphians flocked to at The Oval last summer.

Sounds amazing, right?

Opening night arrives on Saturday, May 30 and registration is now open for a free kick-off celebration of Future Sensations at The Oval featuring the first chance to catch the installation after dark.

Light Up the Parkway Party

From 8 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, Future Sensations celebrates its opening night in Philadelphia with the Light Up the Parkway Party at The Oval.

At 9 p.m. on Saturday night, the first official illumination of the day-to-night exhibition will take place and light up The Oval with dazzling displays from each of the five pavilions.

Light Up the Parkway partygoers will be among the first to witness the after-dark display, and anyone can register now to attend on opening night and score a VIP wristband that includes priority line access to each of the five pavilions (less time in line!) and one free beer from Yards Brewing Company in the beer garden.

Plus, those who keep their wristbands on can return any time during the exhibition through June 6 and receive priority line access.

The party is free to attend, but registration is required.
