Celebrate the historic Glen Foerd Mansion at an all-day lawn party on August 1.
Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest ’20s attire while enjoying music, dancing, lawn games, food, cocktails and a pie baking contest for the Jazz Age on the Delaware party.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., ladies dressed as flappers and men donned in hats and bow ties will fill the grounds of the historic mansion for an afternoon picnic complete with live music from bands like Drew Nugent & the Midnight Society, The Gin Canaries and The Old City Sweethearts, picnic lunches, Delaware River views and more.
Guests can bring their own picnic or order a pre-made picnic online. And though guests can not bring outside alcoholic beverages to the event, cocktails will be available for purchase on the lawn.
Guests of the party can also put their best pie forward in a pie-baking contest. Pies will be judged in a number of categories — fruit and sweet pies; savory pies; boozy pies and most original. For rules and information on entry to the contest, click here.
A number of vendors will be on-site selling vintage jewelry, clothing, antiques, collectibles and more.
Beyond outdoor fun, guests can report indoors for tours of Glen Foerd Mansion. The tours will show guests the impressive sights within the mansion while relaying stories of those who lived and worked there.
General admission tickets are $45 in advance (tickets are available online) and $55 on the day of the event. VIP tickets are $125 and include a private bar, food, a special dance lesson and more.
