The dog days of summer take on new meaning this weekend at The Trestle Inn, the updated go-go bar near the Reading Railroad tracks with undeniable hipster appeal.
The spot may look like a typical dive from its exterior, but those who hang out in the groovy environs and pick from the long list of whiskey soon realize this bar is far from commonplace.
This weekend, the Callowhill neighborhood’s premier dive bar goes to the dogs in the best way.
On Saturday, August 1, the bar hosts its second-annual dog wash party to benefit PAWS, the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
From noon to 5 p.m., dog owners and dog lovers should head to the Trestle with pooches and pups in tow for At The Dog Wash.
Local DJ j the audiophile will be on hand to spin funk, The Trestle Specials will dance their hearts out and food trucks The Grill Cheese and Phoebe’s BBQ will roll up. Of course, The Trestle Inn will be open with a full bar, too.
For a $35 donation, furry friends will get cleaned up and pet parents will receive two pints of Neshaminy Creek Croydon Cream Ale. Plus, Fido can get a nail trim for an extra $10 donation or a blowout for $5.
Or, for those without a pup, a $20 ticket means a $20 donation to PAWS and two pints of Neshaminy Creek Croydon Cream Ale.
Advance tickets are available online and tickets at the event will be available for cash only.
