Care for a spot of tea?
High tea was once a mainstay of civilized dining, and The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia would love to see to it so Philadelphians and visitors can always experience the leisure of lounging over a pot of tea, with a side of finger sandwiches and scones, of course.
A service offered at many other Ritz properties and, as Afternoon Tea Specialist Jeffrey Hattrick says, a cornerstone of the Ritz-Carlton dining culture, high tea returns to the Philadelphia Ritz this fall.
Beginning Saturday, September 5 and continuing every Saturday in September and October, a three-course afternoon tea at The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia will be available in two seatings each week.
A proper tea time, the full tea includes a glass of champagne, a choice of Rishi Organic Tea — black, chai, oolong, green, white or herbal — a selection of composed finger sandwiches, traditional scones and house-made pastries for $43 per person. For another $20 per person, the champagne flows in unlimited quantities.
Note that space is limited, with seatings at noon and 3 p.m. each Saturday, and reservations are required 24 hours in advance. For reservations or additional information, email The Ritz-Carlton.
Soon, the entire property will see a renovation, so much more is in store for this key Philadelphia hotel.
For now, let’s take some tea.
