Exciting news, Philly: The prestigious Forbes Travel Guide just released its 2016 list of star-rated restaurants hotels — and Philadelphia’s own Volvér has been awarded five stars — making it the city’s only five-star restaurant.
Volvér at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts is now one of 56 restaurants in the world to be named to the five-star list and the only Philadelphia restaurant to be recognized in that category.
The gorgeous restaurant on the ground floor of the Center City performing arts venue offers two distinct dining experiences based on chef Jose Garces’ world travels — a first-come-first-served champagne bar and a prix-fixe dining experience.
Volvér is one of just 56 restaurants in the world to be named to Forbes’ five-star list and the only Philadelphia restaurant to be recognized in that category.
Clearly, those on the national dining scene have taken note.
In its overview of Volvér, Forbes calls out Chef Garces’ globally inspired menu, chef de cuisine Natalie Maronski’s influence, the restaurant’s contemporary décor, and sommelier Gordana Kostovski’s impressive wine list.
The Forbes Travel Guide, the rating that was formerly the Mobil Travel Guide, provides anonymously evaluated and comprehensive ratings and reviews of hotels, restaurants and spas, and has been in existence since 1958.
Let’s hear it for these stars of the Philadelphia hospitality scene.
