Everybody loves a parade, especially for a ridiculously awesome reason.
In a buzzer-beating stunner on Thursday, April 4, the Villanova Wildcats won the N.C.A.A. Men’s Basketball National Championship — and now it’s time to celebrate in Philly.
This Friday, April 8, the City of Philadelphia will throw Nova a huge parade in Center City, giving the hometown heroes a citywide high-five.
Kicking off at 1 p.m. at 20th and Market streets, the parade will head down Market Street to wrap at Dilworth Park. For those who want to catch the parade indoors, the video wall at the Comcast Center is set to stream the parade from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday. Pretty sweet!
Seriously, this team is worth celebrating: the last national title for the Wildcats was in 1985 and the tireless team bested the No. 1 seed North Carolina Tar Heels in a down-to-the-wire shootout where Kris Jenkins’ three-pointer took the title. Watch the unbelievable finish in the video below.
And in the meantime, get psyched to cheer on the Wildcats one more time by watching a replay of the amazing last shot in the video below. It’s the TeamStream broadcast featuring the Villanova announcers calling the final shot and the ensuing celebration. It’s pretty epic.
