The arrival of a Wednesday night becomes an excellent reason to get an after-work drink once again in Philly this summer.
Center City Sips runs every Wednesday from June 1 through September 28.
While the official season doesn’t begin until June 1, the early kickoff event takes place this Wednesday, May 25th on the Marathon Grill patio at 1818 Market Street with a taste of what’s to come.
This year, the happy hour to end all happy hours will be observed at over 90 bars and restaurants. During the magic time (5 p.m. to 7 p.m.) those fine establishments are offering $3 beer, $4 wine and $5 cocktails (expect returning sponsor 2 Gingers Whiskey to figure prominently in the bar creations). Half-priced appetizers round out the excellent value.
And as always, meter parking is free on Wednesday nights from the Delaware to the Schuylkill rivers and from Bainbridge to Spring Garden streets.
New entrants this year include bop: Korean Inspired Grill, Craftsman Row Saloon and Suga. En plein air-loving bon vivants can indulge in the deals at such outdoor hangs as Uptown Beer Garden, Dilworth Park and Independence Beer Garden.
