Art Splash Returns To The Philadelphia Museum Of Art With Tons Of Family-Friendly Events

Over two months of kid-centric art programming arrives this summer to coincide with Creative Africa at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Art Splash makes a return to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, bringing a wave of fun activities to the museum for the fourth year in a row.

Kicking off on July 1 and running through Labor Day, this year’s series of family-geared events all center around Creative Africa, a major, multi-part exhibition of African artwork inside of the Perelman Building of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Special gallery tours, interactive workshops and other imaginative programs invite the entire family to come out and view Creative Africa through a different lens.

Opportunities to go hands-on include an instructional sewing session where participants are encouraged to design their own bag inspired by Vlisco: African Fashion on a Global Stage, one of the five exhibitions within the expansive Creative Africa. A photography workshop will also take place, and “Splash Studio” sets up for those of all ages to drop in and share in the experience of creating art together.

Museum admission for kids 12 and under is free and most events are included as part of regular admission fees.
