Heads up, pop-up park fans!
This week — Wednesday, August 17 through Sunday, August 21 — marks the final week of The Oval’s 2016 season. The pop-up park ends its summer run with a full calendar of the great events that they’ve hosted throughout the summer in addition to special closing weekend events.
Located right in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art at Eakins Oval, The Oval takes over a parking lot on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to bring free outdoor lounging and programming to Philly Wednesday through Sunday, right up until this Sunday, August 21.
The Oval Beer Garden, Food Trucks and Free Fun
The Oval’s tree-shaded beer garden is a favorite spot for those looking to sip some beers outside. The beer garden is open Wednesday through Sunday this week.
To complement the drinks, a number of food trucks (think Samosa Deb, Lil’ Pop Shop, the Cow and the Curd, Cupcake Carnival and more) line up at the park to serve food and drinks to guests, too.
Beyond food and drinks, The Oval closes out its final weekend with free fitness classes on Wednesday (yoga, kickboxing and dance cardio), a free screening of Big on Friday and quizzo on Saturday in addition to splash fountains and oversized games throughout the duration of the week.

Closing Weekend at The Oval
The Oval marks its final weekend with an array of awesome free special events, too.
On Friday night, the pop-up park hosts a ’90s party that comes complete with a ’90s rock-themed game show, live music from the decade by Bayside Tigers and a free screening of a classic ’90s flick Can’t Hardly Wait.
On both Saturday and Sunday evening, the popular Bearded Ladies Cabaret performs a special outdoor cabaret show to help The Oval close out its summer season. The local campy cabaret group will perform Bitter Homes and Gardens, an outdoor cabaret about plants and what they would say if they could starting at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Don’t miss your last chance to spend time at one of the city’s most popular summertime attractions!
