Philadelphia Fashion Week Hits Runways September 19-24

Philadelphia's fashion fete returns for another stylish event...

Philadelphia’s biannual fashion week returns for the fall season with stylish events and two fashion shows — all open to the public.

From September 19 through September 24, the city becomes one big runway. Presented by FBH — The Agency, a Philadelphia-based talent and modeling agency, the affair showcases local and national fashion designers at events and venues across town.

Philadelphia’s celebration of style kicks into high gear throughout the week. The Phashion Phest: Fashion From The Top event literally takes style skyward on Wednesday, September 21. The retail-based fashion show takes place at One Liberty Observation Deck and in the Rotunda at the Shops at Liberty Place.

Featuring a VIP fashion show and cocktail reception, the general fashion show will showcase accessible, upscale styles. Because retailers are the primary Phashion Phest participants, the audience can purchase pieces and looks they love right after seeing them on the runways from boutiques like Shop Sixty Five and Verde.

The first official weekend in fall brings Philly Fashion Week’s headlining events: The Runway I and II.

Held in South Philly’s 2300 Arena, each show features 10 local, national and international designers. Day one on September 23 spotlights designers including Onyx by Onyx Taylor and These Pink Lips, a Philadelphia brand that has been worn by reality stars like South Philly’s Amber Rose, Blac Chyna, Cardi B and singer Mya.

Sunday’s show brings couture and after-five wear to the runways, featuring designers like Carmelita, Autumn Lin, Bishme Cromartie and Jenny Lee Maas.

Tickets to both runway shows range from $40 to $100.
