After-Hours Art Parties Return To Pennsylvania Academy Of The Fine Arts This Fall

Spend a night at the museum with performances, panel discussions, hands-on art making and more...

Make plans to party with amazing American art after the sun goes down at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts during its fall 2016 installation of the PAFA After Dark series of after-hours events.

The monthly soiree invites art lovers to explore the galleries of the museum after regular visiting hours alongside live music, a cash bar, behind-the-scenes tours, art-making activities and plenty of festive refreshments.

This fall, partygoers should make plans to celebrate PAFA’s current exhibitions and attend the museum’s after-dark festivities from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19 and Wednesday, November 16.

In October, the Halloween spirit creeps into the halls of the academy with PAFA After Dark: Paranormal Creativity. Guests can decorate pumpkins, get into a Stranger Things ’80s-themed dance party and check out live music courtesy of the Philadelphia Jazz Project. Plus, view Fernando Orellana’s exhibition of ghost machines and Thomas Eakins: Photographer.

Come November, PAFA After Dark: Homeland fetes the opening of the World War I and American Art exhibition with propaganda poster-making, battle games in the galleries and live music.

PAFA After Dark is free with museum admission ($15 general admission, free for PAFA members) and registration is highly recommended.

Stay tuned for even more after-dark action in the PAFA galleries in 2017.
