Robert Indiana’s AMOR Sculpture To Debut At Sister Cities Park

This week, the AMOR sculpture will take its place at a new permanent home...

LOVE is here to stay, Philly!

After a year-plus stay at the top of the iconic steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in celebration of 2015’s World Meeting of Families and the Pope’s visit, Robert Indiana’s AMOR sculpture debuts at its new permanent home at Sister Cities Park.

This week, the magnificent AMOR will debut at 18th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway as an official piece of Philadelphia’s permanent public art collection.

Translating to “love” in both Spanish and Latin, the artwork will be a companion piece to Philadelphia’s LOVE sculpture, which will be just a few blocks away from AMOR once Love Park is renovated in 2017.

The official dedication ceremony will take place on Friday, December 2 at 3 p.m. at Sister Cities Park. The celebration is open to the public and completely free to attend.

Here’s to even more amor in the City of Brotherly Love!
