Presented by Koresh Dance Company and now in its fourth year, this dance celebration has expanded in 2017 to include 41 local, regional and national dance companies showcasing an awesome mix of dance styles ranging from hip-hop to ballet.
Leading Philadelphia troupes headline each night. Brian Sanders’ JUNK, Koresh Dance Company, Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers, PHILADANCO!, Rennie Harris Puremovement, Ballet Inc. and Just Sole! Street Dance Theater Company will share the stage with emerging choreographers like Asya Zlatina, Ani Gavino and Megan Flynn.
Each night features a totally different lineup of exciting performers, with over 100 dancers in dozens of different pieces taking the stage across the fest’s five days. Every jam-packed night of entertainment has at least seven different acts over its 90-minute running time.
Philadelphia’s biggest dance festival gets underway on August 16 with a 6:30 p.m. happy hour and a complimentary champagne toast from Koresh Dance Company founder Roni Koresh. A talk back with performers and choreographers follows both the opening night performance as well as the show on Thursday, August 17.
Tickets for individual shows, which are $35 for general admission (and $23 for students), are available online. Tickets for multiple performances (two- and three-night tickets as well as a five-night festival pass) range in price and are available online, too.
